Betika is an instantly recognisable name among Africa’s online gaming companies. Established in Nairobi in 2016, they now have a strong presence across 10 African countries. Betika is known for its wide range of offerings, including sportsbook betting, casino games, virtual sports, and e-sports, and its substantial investments in community engagement and sports sponsorships across the continent. 

THE CHALLENGE

As Betika rapidly expanded its footprint across ten African countries, it faced the challenge of scaling its cloud infrastructure to manage a growing volume of transactions. At the same time, Betika needed to adapt to the evolving landscape of cybersecurity threats, ensuring that operations remained not only efficient but also secure. Cost efficiency was another key factor, with the company seeking to optimise cloud expenses while maintaining a robust infrastructure capable of supporting continuous growth. 

ADG’S ROLE

ADG partnered with Betika to design a scalable, cost-efficient cloud solution built on Google Cloud’s Active Assist and Security Command Center. ADG's expertise in cloud architecture and cybersecurity helped Betika achieve secure, seamless operations as the company continued to expand. The project also focused on providing Betika with deeper visibility into its cloud spending through a custom Looker dashboard, enabling continuous monitoring and cost optimisation. 

THE SOLUTION

Leveraging Google Cloud's Active Assist, ADG delivered an enhanced cost management solution for Betika, ensuring that cloud expenditure remained controlled even as the company scaled. Google Cloud’s Security Command Center was implemented to provide comprehensive security oversight, allowing Betika to respond proactively to cybersecurity threats. A custom dashboard, powered by Looker, gave Betika full visibility into its cloud infrastructure and spending, making it easier to track performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance security measures. 

THE RESULTS

Betika achieved significant reductions in cloud expenditure while enhancing its ability to manage security threats across multiple regions. With the support of ADG, Betika now operates on a cloud infrastructure that is scalable, secure, and adaptable, ready to handle both the company's growth and the dynamic nature of cybersecurity challenges.
